Holding Period Period
แปลว่า(Concrete Engineering) In the manufacture of concrete products, the period between completion of casting and the introduction of additional heat or the steam curing period
Adiabatic Curing
แปลว่า(Concrete Engineering) The maintenance of ambient conditions during the setting and hardening of concrete so that heat is neither lost nor gained from the surroundings of the concrete.
Fermentation
แปลว่า(Environmental Engineering) Energy production without the benefit of oxygen as a terminal electron acceptor, i.e. oxidation in which the net effect is one organic compound oxidizing another. See respiration.
Facultative
แปลว่า(Environmental Engineering) A group of microorganisms which prefer or preferentially use molecular oxygen when available, but are capable of suing other pathways for energy and synthesis if molecular oxygen is not available.
a long sticky mass like mucus that runs from the nose or silver that drops when it is melted by the heat
แปลว่ายวง
Decomposers
แปลว่า(Environmental Engineering) Organisms which utilize energy from wastes or dead organisms. Decomposers complete the cycle by returning nutrients to the soil or water and carbon dioxide to the air or water.
Brasses
แปลว่า(english) Copper base alloys in which zinc is the principal alloying element. Brass is harder and mechanically stronger than either of its alloying elements copper or zinc. It is formable and ductile; develops high tensile strength with cold-working and is not heat treatable.
Autotrophic
แปลว่า(Environmental Engineering) Organisms which utilize inorganic carbon for synthesis of protoplasm. Ecologists narrow the definition further by requiring that autotrophs obtain their energy from the sun. In microbiologist parlance, this would be a photoautotroph. See photoautotrophic and chemoautotrophic.
Aging 1
แปลว่า(english) A change in the properties of certain metal and alloys (such as steel) that occurs at ambient or moderately elevated temperatures after a hot working heat treatment or cold working operation. Typical properties impacted are hardness, yield strength, tensile strength, ductility, impact value, formability, magnetic properties, etc. See also Non-aging.
ACCUMULATOR
แปลว่า(english) A vessel, normally cylindrical, which is used to store fluid and gas for future release of the energy in the compressed fluid and gas. Normally contains a diaphragm or piston between the fluid (liquid) and gas chambers. Fluid is normally introduced at one end and the gas at the opposite end.
Brinell Hardness Testing
แปลว่า(english) Method of determining the hardness of materials; involves impressing a hardened ball of specified diameter into the material surface at a known pressure (10-mm ball, 500-kg load for aluminum alloys). The Brinell hardness number results from calculations involving the load and the spherical area of the ball impression. Direct-reading testing are generally used for routine inspection of forgings, and as a heat treat control function.
Greenhouse gases
แปลว่า(Environmental Engineering) Gases which trap solar radiation. Of the solar energy entering the earth's atmosphere a portion is reflected back and a portion penetrates onto the earth's surface. The portion reflected back from the earth's surface is at a different wavelength that when it entered. Carbon dioxide and other gases, which pass solar radiation, absorb this reflected radiation, increasing the earth's temperature. This is much like a greenhouse, hence the name.
