คำว่า Crochet ในภาษาอังกฤษ แปลว่า ถัก, สานด้วยตะขอ, ทอด้วยตะขอ. เป็นคำกริยาที่ใช้บ่อย และเป็นกริยาปกติ (Regular Verb) เพราะแค่เติม -ed เมื่อเป็นอดีต.
